The Archdiocese of Vienna and Cardinal Christoph Schönborn have been going together as their Archbishop for almost 30 years.
Now the time has come to say thanks.

Due to the Thanksgiving Service with Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, the Stephansdom is not open as usual on Saturday, January 18. 2025.

The celebration is transferred live to ORF 2.

The cathedral is closed from 8.30 to 17.45 and reopened at the Vigil Mass (18.00).

The Holy Mass at 8.00 takes place in the cathedral as usual, the Vespers service at 17.00 is cancelled.

Confession: St. Peter (Petersplatz, 1010 Vienna)
10.00 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 19.00

Catacombs, North Tower, South Tower: closed

• 6.30: Holy Mass in the cathedral.
• 7.00 – 8.00: Opportunity for confession & discussion and worship in the cathedral.
• 7.15: Chapter Mass in the cathedral.
• 8.00: Holy Mass in the cathedral.
• 8.30: The cathedral will be closed until 17.45. Possibility to celebrate Holy Mass in Maria am Gestade.
• 12.00: Noon Mass in the Deutschordenskirche (Singerstraße 7).
• 17.00: The Vespers service is cancelled.
• 18.00 – 21.45: Opportunity for confession & discussion and worship in the cathedral.
• 18.00: Vigil Mass in the cathedral.
• 19.00: English Holy Mass in the lower church of the cathedral.
